Adapted as a film by Toshiya Fujita and Toho in 1973, staring the iconic Meiko Kaji, it depicts the life of Yuki, a woman who seeks vengeance upon three people who raped her mother and killed her father and brother. The film has become cult through the years thanks to Quentin Tarantino and his largely inspired movie Kill Bill (the scene is the snow is a copy/paste without the magical energy of Meiko Kaji).
